Fifth and Sixth Grade Social Studies
My name is Audrey Kenley and I have always loved teaching. For this reason, I taught in the public-school system for 30 years before retiring. I am an Alumni of City College in Harlem, New York, where I earned a B.S. in Education, and Prairie View University, in Texas, where I earned a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. I am currently teaching 5th and 6th grade Social Studies, as efforts are made to make a difference in the way students learn. Emphasis is placed on helping students improve in Reading by focusing on the Nonfiction Expository Genre. Also, my focus is on teaching students how to use their computers to conduct proper research, extract information, present authentic works, and cite sources (to give credit). Through these methods, my ultimate goal is to improve students' performance on the STAAR Test and advance them to the next grade level. My work ethic is to start early and finish late to fulfill my teaching goals
