Yesterday our campus participated in Mix It Up at Lunch Day 2019. Mix It Up at Lunch Day is an international campaign that encourages students to identify, question and cross social boundaries. While schools can register to host a Mix It Up event on any day of the year, ALA students, along with millions of students around the world participated on the official Mix It Up at Lunch Day, held this year on October 22, 2019. Liberation students used emojis to randomly take a new seat in the lunch rooms and participate in some engagement activities to promote moving out of their comfort zones and connect with someone new over lunch. Here at Arrow Liberation, we know that when students interact with those who are different from them, biases and misperceptions can fall away.
Students in grades K-6 signed a campus agreement to Keep ALA Bully Free and safe! Students wore Neon shirts on Tuesday October 22, 2019 to represent that every student deserves to be noticed for their unique talents, stand out because differences make us beautiful, and be highlighted for the talents or contributions they bring the school and the world.
