Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve.
-- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I am Kendra DeJear, the Kindergarten through 6th grade Instructional Coach for Arrow Liberation Academy. I am proud to serve our campus and our district to improve the overall quality of our instruction so that we can achieve the mission and goals our of school district.
I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma and am a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University. After moving to Houston in 2001 I pursued my Masters degree from University of Houston-Downtown, and graduated with a Masters of Art in Curriculum and Instruction, with emphasis in Mathematics in 2005.
I have worked in education since 2001 as a Kindergarten and 3rd grade teacher, a K-5 Math and Science Specialist, a Title I Parent Involvement Coordinator, and a Data Specialist for a large Houston-area School District. Since my arrival with Arrow Academy in 2014, I have had the privilege of working with all teachers, students, and families daily.
My favorite subject is Math, even though I work hard to help Arrow Academy reach its goals in Science achievement. I love to bake, spend time with my family, and attend sporting events. My favorite athlete is my son, who keeps me busy supporting him with football, baseball, track, and basketball. When I am not busy being a mom I love giving time to my community! I also am working towards being a published author. I am a firm believer in life-long learning and getting better and better every day, because that's the Arrow Way!
