WELCOME TO FINE ARTS AT ALA!
I am very excited about this year! Thank you for sharing your children with me. I consider it a privilege to be able to work with your children in their pursuit of greatness in and out of the classroom.
This will be my 6th year with Arrow Academy and 4th year with Liberation. During my eight years in education, I have taught pre-K through 4th grade ELA, social studies and self-contained classes. I have worked with youth and children through the arts and education for nearly two decades. I am a Houston native and proud graduate of Baylor University. (Sic ‘em Bears!) My husband and I have two amazing daughters and a son!
As a writer, director, producer and performing artist, I have a growing understanding of the power of the arts, the intricacies, and the cognitive processes involved in creating art. I have succeeded as a teacher when students discover and live out their potential to create masterpieces on canvas, on stage and within themselves.
In fine arts at ALA, students will engage in the history, techniques and fundamental elements of music, dance, theater and visual arts. They will be challenged to use their understanding to critique, create original pieces and apply critical thinking and problem solving skills in an artistic context.
This is sure to be a great year!
